The Center for Strategic and International Studies at the University of Baghdad has organized a workshop entitled (Effective Peace-building in Iraq), in the presence of the head of the department of strategic studies, Dr. Ayman Ahmed Mohammed and a number of professors at the center. On the sidelines of this event, Dr. Rana Mowlood Shakir presented a research paper in which she focused on the fact that the development of a strategy to establish peacebuilding in Iraq by the supreme authority is not enough on its own, because it will be just a means that seeks to approve and implement it regardless of its ability to achieve its goal, so this strategy must be synchronized with the maturation of intellectual and political awareness, to become an end rooted in the thought and behavior of the individual and collective mind of Iraqis, and not just a means expressed by plans and programs that are pursued later or even implemented, but it becomes a constructive and joint effort where everyone contribute in.
Then Dr. Rana Mouloud added that the effectiveness of a fruitful strategy lies here through the ability to achieve full results; not only those expected, but even the projects that can be confirm with the principles of pluralism, diversity, balance and openness with the other, supporting the rule of law, independence, active citizenship towards building a pure Iraqi national identity. Dr. Rana Shaker added that these premises are fundamental pillars for the success of the strategy, and the process of managing it according to rational and rational thinking by the concerned government agencies is an effective tool to achieve it, because their effects will reflect positively on the peace-building process and ensure its sustainability that lead to achieving the desired prosperity and stability in the new Iraq.
