Prof. Dr. Ahlam Marouf Hussein al-Azzawi, a lecturer from the department of chemistry and the PhD student, Zainab Hussein Fadel, have received a patent for their study entitled “Design, preparation and diagnosis of the new compound resulting from the modification of the Trimethoprim drug to estimate its anti-breast cancer effectiveness which is the second patent in this regard that was achieved after the fulfillment of the requirements for obtaining it from the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control (COSQC). The study showed that the Trimethoprim was having a high and a very successful effectiveness in combating breast cancer (MCF-7).
