The Department of Crisis Studies at the Center for Strategic and International Studies has organized, in cooperation with the Department of Information and Public Relations at the Ministry of Interior and the Department of Moral Guidance and Psychological Operations, an awareness campaign to reduce the risks of the spread of addiction in the Iraqi society. The Director of the Center, Dr. Asad Tarish Abdul Ridha, stated that this phenomenon is one of the most dangerous dangers that have become a threat to our youth, so the aim of this initiative in alignment with the Ministry of Interior to raise the awareness of the educated segment of students by spreading awareness significantly. Also Dr. Asad Taresh has added that this campaign was not the first but was it was preceded by an extensive seminar held a short time ago and we continue to cooperate with the relevant authorities to eliminate this dangerous phenomenon that has become a threat to Iraqi families.
The Head of the Department of Crisis Studies, Dr. Sudad Mowlood Sabie, said that the community awareness today of this scourge falls on everyone to warn of these dangerous poisons, so we have put within our scientific curriculum this year to fight it through the establishment of scientific seminars and field campaigns because our dear students are the future leaders of the country and they represent the educated segment who are in charge of spreading awareness in the society. For his part, the Director of the Department of Moral Guidance and Psychological Operations at the Ministry of Interior, Lt. Col. Natiq Hamdan, asserted that since the spread of this scourge, the members of department have assisted in the process of resolving issues and fighting addiction through mutual coordination with all government institutions, especially the scientific ones, including research centers at the University of Baghdad by publishing posters on the walls and distributing booklets to students. The campaign was concluded by dedicating the shield of the center for strategic and international studies to the employees of the ministry of interior as well as certificates of thanks and appreciation for their great efforts in order to eliminate this dangerous phenomenon.
