The Department of Biology, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science, has organized a lecture entitled “Bacteria is talking with the brain” that was delivered by Dr. Jinan Attia Ghafel, in the presence of a number of students and those concerned with this issue. The lecturer aimed to highlight this important topic dealing with the relationship between microbiology and physiology of the body of the living organisms, especially the nervous system, and what is associated with human behavior, which reflects on finding a cure for diseases associated with the disruption of the work of the nervous system.

Dr. Jinan Attia reviewed the amazing number of organisms that live together on earth, noting that each organism is unique and these organisms all interact together without boundaries separating them, indicating that germs or bacteria are one of the microorganisms, present almost everywhere inside and outside the body, stressing that the gut bacteria are in strong contact with the brain and this contact is necessary for good mental health.
