Professor from the college of engineering gets an American patent on the use of biotechnology in environmental applications

Prof. Dr. Zainab Ziad Ismail, a lecturer from the department of environmental engineering at the University of Baghdad has got recently an American patent for hisstudy entitled (Myrrh resin (Commiphora molmol) as a novel biocarrier for immobilization of mixed bacterial cells for wastewater treatment). The aim of this study is to address the use of modern biotechnologies in environmental applications, specifically in the field of treatment of industrial and municipal liquid waste, through joint efforts with the researcher Dr. Aya Abbas Najim, a graduate of the department of environmental engineering at the college of engineering, the University of Baghdad.
