Dr. Ahmed Obaid Salman, a professor from the computer center at the University of Baghdad, has published a scientific research entitled (MFMCNS: a multi-feature and multi-classifier network-based system for ransomworm detection) in the journal of Computers & Security listed in Elsevier. The research dealt with the cyber attack generated by Ransomworm that is a type of advanced malware that can encrypt a user’s files or lock a computer system until a ransom has been paid and a detailed analysis of network traffic generated by the Ransomware through two types of unique network-based features that are extracted based on this analysis as well as the use of these features to build two independent classifiers based on artificial intelligence technology. The experimental results proved that MFMCNS is reliable and has high detection accuracy of Ransomworm attack.
