The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has approved the book entitled (Studies in the History of the Islamic Levant (Q3-7H/9-13 AD)), co-authored by the faculty member from the department of history at the college of education for women, Assist. Prof. Dr. Shaimaa Fadel Abdel Hamid in partnership with Dr. Suaad Hadi Hassan Al-Taie.

The book consists of 216 pages in four chapters, where the first chapter dealt with the political developments in the Buyid era, while the second one addressed the prosperity of scientific life during that era. The third chapter shed light on the role of scientists and jurists in the development and prosperity of scientific and intellectual life in the Islamic Levant during the (4-5 AH) centuries, as well as last chapter reviewed the scientific contributions of geographers in the Islamic Levant during the (3-7 AH) centuries. The aim of this study the impact of the Buyid dynasty and state on the social, economic and scientific reality of people and the resulting weakness in the policy of the Abbasid state as well as the scientific and intellectual role of the Buyid princes and the prosperity of the scientific movement in their reign and the opportunities they provided to scientists in various disciplines so as to contribute to the development of the intellectual movement in the Islamic Levant.
