The students of the college of media at the University of Baghdad have completed their free summer training conducted at the university’s satellite channel affiliated to the Department of Media and Public Relations at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Ammar Taher, stressed his keenness to involve students in continuous practical training, whether inside or outside the college, namely at any professional institution, pointing out that such initiatives contribute in the development of the student’s skills that is considered as one of the top priorities according to the vision of the college’ council.

Also Dr. Ammar Taher pointed out during his speech that the college of media strives to arm its students with academic and professional experiences, as well as teaching them the ethics of media work, its laws and customs, to be a standard for workers in the field of journalism to be a model to follow. During the training course at the university channel, the students received the basics of television presentation and preparation of programs, as well as how to write television news, building breaking news and others as presented to them by a number of trainers practicing this profession.
