In the presence of Prof. Dr. Mohammed Jalal Hussein, the dean of Al-Kindy college of medicine, the continuing education unit in cooperation with the Biochemistry Branch held a workshop presented by the lecturer Dr. Shatha Ramadan Zeidan on the (Impact of cholesterol on the insulin-breaking enzyme) in which she talked about how cholesterol is produced in the brain and its role in increasing the effectiveness of the enzyme in breaking down bad beta, which is the cause of Alzheimer’s disease. Therefore, it is concluded that increasing the effectiveness of this enzyme is useful in protecting the human brain from the emergence of Alzheimer’s disease that is a type of dementia that affects memory, thinking and behavior. The sessions were presided over by Prof. Dr. Batool Matar Mahdi, along with Assist. Prof. Dr. Haider Hashim, the director of the continuing education unit.
