Assist. Lecturer Hussein Khalil Ibrahim, a faculty member from the department of sociology at the college of education for women has authored recently a book entitled (Iraqi Community and the Dialectic of Custom and Law: An Anthropological Study) that was published by Dhaffaf Publishing House (Sharjah-Baghdad, 1st Edition, 2022, 300 pages). The study dealt with a fundamental topic in describing and analyzing the references of social control in an urban community and the problematic of this comes in the midst of the cultural and social changes that have occurred in the country post-2003.
The book consists of six chapters as follows: the theoretical aspect of the study that deals with the historical roots of social control, its types and means, the cultural references to social control in our community, the methodological framework and ecology of a given community and at last the findings of the study. The author aimed to uncover the most prominent changes that have occurred in the Iraqi culture at the current stage to identify the references of social control evident and effective in controlling and directing social behavior in general.
