The college of law at the University of Baghdad got lately the first place during a competition of the Virtual Moot Court in the field of the international humanitarian law (IHL) for 2022, thanks to the hard scientific and practical efforts exerted by the head of the team Assist. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Salem and the students Zainab Abdul Sattar, Raneen Saeed and Jumana Mahdi.

It is noteworthy that the team of the college of law has competed with its counterparts at Al-Nahrain, Mustansiriyah, Al-Iraqiya universities and others, so it became qualified to participate in the Arab competition that will be held soon. This virtual court included many legislative advocacy rounds of a hypothetical case considered by the International Criminal Court within the topics addressed in the international humanitarian law so as to train students on the mechanisms of litigation and the substantive aspects of the facts of a specific case, which contributes to the refinement and development of legal skills of students of law in the country also assisting them to acquire professional experience in this field.
