The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Baghdad hosted the periodic meeting of the Administrative Body of the Iraqi Linguists Association chaired by the Vice-President of the Association, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdul Mashkoor.  At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Neima Dahsh Farhan, dean of the college, welcomed his quests and expressed his happiness with this event which comes within the framework of enhancing cooperation between the community oand the college of Islamic sciences in particular, in addition to building strong relations with other academic and cultural institutions, discussing ways of joint cooperation and exchanging experiences between the two parties through the organization of conferences, seminars and joint workshops.

Dr. Mohammed Abdul Mashkoor stated that the establishment of this association was a dream in the imagination of many workers in the field of modern linguistics; because many Iraqi linguists, whether those who specialize in the study of the Arabic language or those who are interested in foreign languages, in order not to distract their efforts because of the lack of central planning, so there is an urgent need to unite efforts to develop linguistic studies in Iraq and keeping pace with the development of contemporary linguistic research, asserting that the Iraqi Linguists Association is one of the civil society organizations approved by the ministry of higher education and scientific research.
