The Scientific Affairs Unit at the College of Pharmacy held an awareness symposium on the hemorrhagic fever disease delivered by the lecturer Dr. Muthanna Saadi from the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Branch and the Assist. Prof. Dr. Farah Rasool who is a faculty member and a doctoral student from the Pharmacology Branch at the college of medicine, Al-Nahrain University. This event aimed at spreading health and preventive awareness in our community regarding such viral hemorrhagic fevers (VHFs) that are a group of diseases caused by several distinct families of viruses and damages the overall cardiovascular system, and reduces the body’s ability to function on its own. The lecturers shed light on the most important causes of this disease, transmission methods, symptoms and clinical signs, as well as describing the most adopted methods of laboratory diagnosis and treatment of pathological conditions.
