The College of Administration and Economics has organized a workshop entitled (Using the Open Journal System to Develop the Culture of Electronic Transmission and Review of Research in the Journal of Economic and Administrative Sciences (JEAS)) presented by the Editorial Director Dr. Waqas Saad Khalaf, and the Editor-in-Chief of JEAS Dr. Omar Abdul Mohsen Ali. The workshop included a detailed explanation of OJS which is an open source software application for online management and publication of scientific journals, developed within the framework of the Public Knowledge Project sponsored by the University of British Columbia with the aim to expand and improve access to research and studies online.

The development of this system is currently overseen by a joint body consisting of PKP, the Canadian Centre for Studies in Publishing and the Simon Fraser University Library (SFU). It is noteworthy that OJS is also a distinctive software for its ability to assist at every stage of the research publishing process, whether in the electronic transmission of research, assessment or review, publication and then indexing, through an easy-to-use interface to ensure a better workflow and the quick submission and uploading of researches thus it helps publishers to speed up their work, whether at the level of publishing or archiving, towards increasing the number of readers on a global scale.
