The Department of Sociology at the College of Arts has organized an electronic workshop entitled “The Role of Anthropology in the Development of Local Communities” in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit at the college.
The lecture aimed to comprehend the meaning of anthropology as a study of humanity through the application of biology, cultural studies, archaeology, linguistics, and other social sciences in line with the problems that threaten the stability of social construction and its various systems, including social deviation, crime, poverty and others. The participants addressed ways for the investment of anthropology in the development of education, urbanization, population and social and economic development, especially the development of local communities in medical, public health, mental health, media and communication fields, in addition to fiction and drama works, museums, arts, besides matters related to industrial fields, state administration and politics.
