Prof. Dr. Riad Zuhair al-Zubaidi, a lecturer from the department of water resources engineering at the University of Baghdad, has participated recently in the meeting held at the headquarters of the ministry of water resources and sponsored by the Iraqi National Committee for the Intergovernmental Hydrological Program (IHP) in the presence of His Excellent the Minister of Water Resources, the engineer Mahdi Rashid al-Hamdani, the ministers of higher education and scientific research and the environment, as well as the presence of general managers and members of the national committee representing the the ministries of transport, construction, housing, municipalities, public works and education.
Some research papers were presented by the members of the Department of Water Resources Engineering in this regard, as well as many proposals to contribute to the scientific and practical communication between the two sides such as the reactivating the memorandum of understanding with the ministry of water resources and the funding of research projects made by postgraduate students. Dr. Riad al-Zubaidi proposed to study and finding solutions that might contribute to reducing the impact of water scarcity and climate change in our dear country.
