The Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnologies for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad has organized a scientific symposium on the Hemorrhagic fever and its repercussions in the country, in the presence of the dean of the institute, Assist. Prof. Dr. Saif Dawood al-Ahmar. The seminar aimed to introduce this disease and the reasons leading to its infection, through presenting statistics around the world about this viral fever.

The lecturers talked about the details of this disease, its outbreak and symptoms to recommend ways to combat the pathogens of external parasites, especially the ticks, which are the main carrier of the virus, and to prevent random slaughter or animal husbandry near residential homes and the need to limit slaughter within modern slaughterhouses subject to health control and veterinary supervision. They also stated the urgent need to communicate with international health organizations to know the extent of the development of this virus whether having new variants to determine the type of local strains to adopt specific treatment, leading to combat and follow-up the severity of this disease in Iraq.
