The Department of Hebrew Language at the College of Languages, the University of Baghdad held its second annual symposium entitled (Learning Hebrew and its importance in fortifying Iraqi national security) in which a number of professors have participated in with the aim to introduce the importance of studying Hebrew in maintaining our national security.
One of the most important recommendations of the symposium was the establishment of a center specialized in Israeli studies concerned with Iraqi affairs, and the activation of the role of translation of articles, studies and books concerned, as well as following up and monitoring everything published about Iraq whether in social media platforms directed against Iraq or other means, and providing the relevant concerned authorities with reports and analysis on what is published in Hebrew. The participants also recommended providing a human and electronic research infrastructure to keep abreast of events related to the discourse directed against Iraq for the sake of creating a qualitative countermedia.
