The Department of Persian Language at the College of Languages held a scientific symposium entitled (Dialects in Iraq influenced by the Persian words) based upon the approved annual plan of the activities of the department. The participants in this debate addressed various topics that dealt with the extent to which dialects in Iraq from north to south are influenced by the Persian words by virtue of the historical, cultural and geographical relations between Iraq and Iran, as we find that the Iraqi citizen during his speech pronounces many vocabulary that are originally not Arabic in origin but Persian due to undergoing semantic and morphological changes to suit the dialect of Iraqi people. During this event seven diverse research papers have been studied and analyzed from certain linguistic and literary aspects.
