The College of Languages received recently the Italian Consul in Iraq Mr. Alessandro Menini to discuss the prospects of providing scholarship for the Iraqi students in master and doctoral degrees with the aim of sustaining cooperation between the Italian Embassy in the country and the University of Baghdad that embraces the only department of Italian language in Iraq and which grants certificates in various foreign languages that reflects a positive image to the world about the Iraqi academic and cultural community in general and about our distinguished university in particular.
The two parties exchanged talks and interviewed 22 students at the department so as to select six students of them for the aforementioned scholarship. The interviews were conducted impartially, comfortably and without any interference by the college and this is what the committee praised for the good management, organization and professionalism of the deanship of the college to obtain the best results in service of our dear students. This qualitative shift in cooperation between the Italian Embassy and the deanship of the college of languages would open new cooperative horizons to develop the skills of our undergraduate students in speaking and mastery of foreign languages towards completing their postgraduate studies abroad.
