The Department of Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science has organized the workshop on “Coexistence, tolerance, citizenship and peace” in the presence of a number of students, professors and those concerned with educational guidance committees. The workshop aimed to shed light on the world of competition and conflict as the principles of coexistence, tolerance and peace are very important, research in terms and definition of citizenship and its importance with the definition of local and international peace and the slogan of world peace through peaceful coexistence, integration, national unity, love of the homeland and the dissemination of the culture of dialogue.
The workshop, which was presented by the Assist. Prof. Dr. Zahra Najm Abdul Amir and Assist. lecturer Osama Hadi Mutlak, stressed on studying the phenomena on coexistence, tolerance, citizenship and peace, pointing out that the path towards urbanization and development, indicating that citizenship is the way to achieve the concept of national partnership, and the lectures addressed ways to ensure the prosperity of societies, and the features of a prosperous society, stressing how to apply the concepts of peaceful coexistence, citizenship and rejection of violence, and mechanisms of positive integration of different cultures, as well as providing models for development projects and ideas that can assist in creating a healthy environment in nations.
