The Nursing Basics Branch, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Nursing, has organized a workshop entitled “Reducing violent extremism among students” in the presence of the first-grade students. The workshop was presented by a group of professors of the Nursing Basics Branch, including Assist. Prof. Dr. Aqeel Habib Jassim, Assist. Prof. Dr. Tahsin Rajab Mohammed and the lecturer Dr. Haidar Mohammed Majid.

The aim of the workshop is to define the problem of extremism is one of the most serious problems that societies in different countries of the world have experienced, whether they are Muslims, Christians or others, to reflect on the social fabric of society, and negatively on human, social and behavioral relations between the one or multiple communities. The workshop included clarifying the reasons for extremism that may be caused by ignorance or not to know the rules of Allah Almighty related to values and morals, economic conditions, spiritual vacuum since extremism is linked to beliefs and ideas far from what is usual and compatible and it is known politically, socially and religiously, without linking these beliefs and ideas to violent behaviors.
