The Nursing Basics Branch, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Nursing, has organized a workshop entitled “Ethics of Practical Training in Hospitals” in the presence of the first-grade students. The workshop was presented by a group of professors including: Assist. Prof. Dr. Tahseen Rajab Mohammed, lecturer Dr. Haidar Mohammed Majid and the lecturer Dr. Ahmed Fleih Hassan.

The aim of the workshop is to define ethics as being not only the principles of conduct that govern the student’s behavior as a member of the nursing group but as a symbol of responsibility of the nurse to learn about how to deal with patients and to take care of any individual, maintain the confidentiality of information about the patient, family and co-workers, the workplace as well as follow the rules and procedures of the workplace he/she works in. The workshop included introducing students to codes of ethics for nurses and nurses who provide services while respecting human dignity and patient uniqueness, not restricted by considerations of social or economic status, personal qualities, or the nature of health problems.  Preventive precautions and student responsibilities, appearance, cleanliness, training rules in hospitals and respect and follow the laws of the health institution. At the end of the workshop, the students praised the efforts made for clarifying this topic and identifying the laws of practical training and adherence to nursing training and respecting the rights and duties of the patient and the health institution as a whole.
