The Adult Nursing Branch, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Nursing has organized a public electronic workshop on alcohol and its relationship to heart disease via the Google meet service, in the presence of a number of faculty members, undergraduate and postgraduate students. The workshop was presented by Prof. Dr. Hakima Shaker Hassan.
The workshop aimed to identify the effect of alcohol on the heart muscle through several factors combined, including: direct toxic effect of alcohol on the heart muscle, the synchronization of alcoholism with excessive smoking. The workshop included the effects of alcohol on human health, including its impact on the nutrition of the addict, metabolism and the lifestyle of addicts, where you find them paying little attention to their health and food or to the treatment given to them. At the end of this event, the participants expressed their thanks and gratitude to the sponsors due to the importance of information about maintaining a healthy heart, the need to quit alcohol and practice sports for at least half an hour on five days a week.
