Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, rector of the University of Baghdad, has recently received in his office His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to Iraq, Mr. Maurizio Griganti, to discuss the mechanism of scientific cooperation between the two sides, where the rector provided a detailed explanation of the university’s institutions, its scientific and cultural achievements.
Then the two parties exchanged talks related to the postgraduate studies, as well as the need for sharing scientific expertise in all disciplines, stressing the significance of providing adequate support to the department of Italian language at the University of Baghdad and opening channels of cultural communication between Iraq and Italy at various levels. For his part, the Italian ambassador announced the provision of new scholarships for three months to the undergraduate students of this department, along with diverse prospects of initiating master study programs in the future and calling for the nomination of a joint team to work on Iraqi antiquities.
