The Pharmaceutical Chemistry Branch at the College of Pharmacy held an online workshop on (The computational drug design approaches), in collaboration with the Schrodinger company that is specialized in the development of pharmaceutical vehicle design programs to shed light on how to use the Glide software and other supporting programs. A specialized team from Schrodinger gave a detailed explanation of how Glide and Desmond Molecular Dynamics Performance are used in drug design.
During the workshop, a detailed practical application was carried out for all the participants, professors and postgraduate students where all of them were able to obtain a temporary electronic copy of Glide software on their personal computers and make a practical application on this software to design and study the biological characteristics of chemical compounds that have a pharmaceutical effectiveness by the use of computer before they are made in laboratory in order to allow researchers to learn about the effectiveness of designed compounds and to understand the mechanism of action of effective compounds.
