The Sub-Scientific Promotions Unit, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science held a workshop entitled “Scientific Promotions Act, No. 167 for the year 2017, in the presence of the dean of the college, Prof. Dr. Abdul Karim al-Qazzaz and his assistants with the participation of a number of professors and those concerned with the scientific promotion committees.
The workshop aimed to introduce the mechanism of submitting scientific promotions for various ranks and titles and the most important mechanisms adopted for the purposes of scientific promotion and how to fill the tables specified in the instructions and prepare the research required for promotion to each scientific title, to show how to publish in the court and recognized journals and explain the diversity of publishing and to explain its concept, as well as to clarify the concept of scientific activities required by the faculty member for the purposes of scientific promotion.
The workshop was presented by the Chairman of the Central Promotions Committee, Prof. Dr. Kazim Abdul Wahid, and the Chairman of the Subcommittee at the College, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Kazim Jawad, and the members of the unit to introduce how to examine and scrutinize the sobriety of scientific journals, publishing houses before granting research, interpreting the recent ministerial instructions related to this matter and the development and modification, and clarifying the process of upgrading their academic status that would contribute to the advancement of the educational process in the country, especially since they contribute to presenting various scientific outputs online in the service of the community.
