Assist. Prof. Dr. Areej Khairi al-Rawi, a faculty member from the center for the urban and regional planning for postgraduate studies has participated in the lecture entitled “Architecture and Beauty in the Planning and Implementation of Bridges”, presented by the Former Director General of Roads and Bridges, Consultant Adnan Mathlum, held at the Iraqi Engineers Association in the presence of a number of academics and engineers interested in the planning and engineering of highways, bridges and sustainable environment.
The lecturer dealt with aesthetic and architectural standards in bridges’ planning in cities and regions, through displaying pictures and short films related to the geometric and urban accuracy of designs. Also Dr. Areej al-Rawi stressed during her participation in this event on a number of the academic achievements of the center since 1971, in terms of proposing urban designs and the construction of sustainable cities, also publishing numerous scientific research papers and supervising a wide range of postgraduate studies inside Iraq and abroad.
