The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls held a lecture entitled “Strategies to avoid failure and feeling empowered” by the Assist. Prof. Dr. Maysaa Nadim Ahmed at the Theoretical Sciences Branch. The aim of the lecture was to show the concept of avoiding failure as an unacceptable or familiar behavior among individuals, where it is the cornerstone of moving towards change and moving away from all that is frustrating behavior, so teachers who use strategies that include broad and high participation reduce their behavioral problems.
The lecturer showed that interventionist strategies designed to avoid failure have five strategies: modifying teaching methods, providing individual teaching, encouraging positive self-speaking, reformulating the word I can’t, and getting rid of the dilemmas. She explained the most important ways to avoid failure, including making mistakes acceptable, building trust in students who suffer from failure, focusing on past success, assessing his achievement, and making learning tangible. Then she dealt with the most important types of intelligence to help achieve success and avoid failure, including verbal intelligence, linguistic, including learning diary, discussions, debates, TV, jokes, logical intelligence, sports and represents cognitive maps, charts, research, laboratories, equations, visual intelligence, spatial and includes posters, panels, tables, coloring, video presentations.
