The Biological Research Unit for Hot Areas, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science held the panel discussion entitled “The basics of communication on the dangers of Covid-19 and how to integrate with the community” with the participation of the number of students and those concerned with medical and social affairs.

The seminar aimed to identify the importance of communicating on risks, which is a key public health intervention, used in the event of an outbreak of a disease or health emergency, and to share information, advice and opinions in real time between experts, officials and people who face a threat to their lives and lifestyle, in order to enable informed decisions and adopt preventive behaviors. It was presented by Assist. Prof. Dr. Maysa Kazim Hebash, included an introduction of the importance of communicating on risks that are the exchange of information and advice between experts and officials with people at risk of life, health or social and economic stability, noting the need to enable anyone at risk to make informed decisions in order to mitigate this risk or threat such as outbreaks or epidemics and take protection and prevention measures, pointing to the role of communication on risks that record a combination of Strategies and methods of communication and participation, including the media, social media, mass awareness campaigns, health awareness, stakeholder engagement, mass mobilization and community engagement.
