The rector of the University of Bahdad, Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, has received recently the Regional Director of the Francophone University Agency (AUF) of the French Embassy, Mr. Jean-Noël Baléo to exchange talks on the agency’s mission in the field of integrated learning and how to benefit from the projects and services provided by the agency, in the presence of the Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Alaa Abdul Hassan and a number of Iraqi university rectors from various Iraqi provinces.
The Regional Director of the Francophone Agency explained that they seek to support scientific research, academic projects and training faculty members in how to make use of digital software and electronic governance systems, pointing out that a number of Iraqi universities are under the banner of the university agency, including Tikrit, Anbar, Mosul, Kufa, Basra universities and others. At the conclusion of their meeting, Mr. Baléo expressed his happiness to open up the prospects for cooperation with the University of Baghdad and other Iraqi universities so as to support scientific research and transfer of French expertise to Iraqi educational institutions positively that may serve academic and development goals, calling at the same time to initiate fellowships between the two sides to achieve a real cultural exchange between the two parties.
