The Department of Qur’an sciences and Islamic education at the College of Education for Women held a scientific workshop entitled “Sharia and Clan”, in which a number of professors presented their working papers, including the concept of clan in the Holy Quran as well as the tribal provisions between Sharia, law and the prophetic biography and its impact on the tribal intolerance and tribal customs in approval of sharia and clan in building society.

The aim of the workshop was to show the pros and cons of tribal customs and the impact on the individual and society, including the need to spread a culture of peace, coexistence, communication among members of society, spread love and accept diversity among its members according to their different origins, and that the Islamic religion is a religion of tolerance that calls for unity and rejects discrimination and offers the right of the community to activate the role of religious bodies and educational institutions in establishing high values, high principles and developing plans for awareness concerning the spread of some foreign tribal violations and the role of state in monitoring clan violations, reducing their negative phenomena, educating society and raising the healthy culture through various media, contributing to the consolidation of good habits and the rejection of bad ones.
