The college of engineering, in the presence of the rector of the University of Baghdad Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, held recently its 3rd International Conference on Geotechnical Engineering – Iraq (ICGE-2022) for the period 29-30 May 2022 in cooperation with the Iraqi Scientific Society of Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering (ISSSMFE) and the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Karbala.
The conference aims to provide a solid scientific base for engineers and those interested in presenting and discussing the latest academic research and the findings reached by various studies in the fields of civil, environmental and architectural engineering. It will also provide an opportunity for academics and professionals in the industrial and construction sectors to exchange ideas and insights on the latest developments witnessing in the operational aspects and the needs of the labor market. The sponsors and participants in this event stated that the conference’s proceedings dealt with the links of joint action among the scholars from different countries of the world, especially on the sidelines of a research exhibition established for this purpose. It is noteworthy that this conference was organized under the auspices of the Holy Husseini threshold, in the presence of the assistant rector for administrative affairs of the University of Baghdad, Assist. Prof. Dr. Sarmad al-Ansari, the dean of the college of engineering Prof. Dr. Saba Neima al-Khafaji, the dean of the college of engineering at the University of Karbala Prof. Dr. Laith Shaker al-Qaraawi and a number of faculty members from both parties.
