The Department of Computer Science, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science has organized an electronic workshop entitled “Amazon Web Services (AWS)” with the participation of a number of researchers and stakeholders in software and security systems.

This online workshop aimed to identify Amazon Web Services (AWS) that is one of the most comprehensive and widely adopted cloud platforms in the world, providing more than 200 fully differentiated data center services globally used by millions of customers, including fast-growing startups and the world’s largest leading government institutions and agencies so as to reduce cost, increase flexibility and innovation. The workshop, presented by the expert in cloud services Prof. Ammar Hanoun, who identifed cloud computing that is concerned with providing on-demand information resources online, with cost-by-use pricing, indicating that instead of purchasing, owning or retaining data centers and physical servers, there is easy access to technological services, such as computing capabilities, storage and databases through a cloud service provider such as the Amazon Web Services.
