Dr. Samer Sami Hassan, the director of the computer center at the University of Baghdad has recently participated in a seminar entitled (The age of information technology: characteristics and community impacts) sponsored by the Board of Commissioners of the National Communications and Media Commission of Iraq (CMC) in preparation for a conference on the reality of information technology and digital transformation. The engineer Bassam Salem Hussein, chairman of the Board of Commissioners, stressed during his speech that it is necessary to exchange ideas and views to contribute to the development of the IT sector, calling for the need to enact legislation and laws regulating the work of this important and vital sector in order to preserve individual privacy from abuse and exploitation.
Then Mr. Abdul Azim al-Saleh, a member of the Board of Commissioners of the Information and Communications Commission stated that they must work to develop visions in the following main themes, especially digital transformation, cloud computing, cyber security because of its importance and necessity in the institutional construction of the Iraqi state, which we all seek to be among the developed countries in the IT sector, in addition to the role played by the advisory office of the University of Baghdad in the field of digital transformation, building state institutions technology and working in information systems programs in providing public services to citizens and facilitating procedures in government institutions and the importance of providing means of digital transformation and enabling all groups and segments to use them in accordance with the needs of each individual.
