The College of Languages at the University of Baghdad has inaugurated recently a new building for the Turkish language department after being rehabilitated and qualified by voluntary efforts of professors and students of this department. The students of the Turkish language department presented a number of literary, cultural and artistic events about the Iraqi and Turkish heritage that won the admiration of the dean of the college Prof. Dr. Muwaffaq al-Musleh, in the presence of the Azerbaijani ambassador who called for strengthening cultural cooperation between the college of languages and their corresponding universities in Azerbaijan.
For his part, the head of the Turkish Language Department, Assist. Prof. Yildiz Saadeddine delivered a speech in which he talked about the origin and development and achievements of this department as well as the most prominent curricula adopted every academic year. The Azerbaijani ambassador praised the development of the scientific level of the college and its role in deepening cultural relations with its counterparts. The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Naseer Mamdouf, Chargé d’Affairs of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Iraq.
