The Department of Arabic Language at the College of Education for Women has sponsored an online symposium on semiotics and the Qura’nic text that was attended by the head of department of Arabic language, Prof. Dr. Jinan Qahtan Farhan, and that included two scientific sessions in which the researchers presented eleven papers that study the Holy Qur’anic text and its contribution to enriching linguistic studies, especially semiotics by shedding light on the appropriateness of the semiotic approach to the study of the Qur’anic text and its manifestations in the whole Qur’an.
The symposium included fruitful scientific discussions that reflect the sobriety of the linguistic lesson and the deep understanding of the language of the Qur’an through understanding the signs and signals of the Qur’an, and concluded several recommendations, including devoting the semiotic lesson in preliminary studies to the development of skills, activating the sources of the Semiotic lesson in postgraduate studies master and doctoral studies, involving female students in the analysis of literature from a semiotic point of view, adopting semiotics in practical applications in life in particular, establishing a semiotics conference on the Iraqi novel to study the roots of the semiotic lesson in the Arab heritage.
