The Committee for Educational Supervision at the Department of Oil Engineering has organized an educational and awareness seminar for the first grade students that was attended by the head of the department of oil engineering the lecturer Dr. Ghanim Madeeh Farman and a number of professors, in commitment and implementation of the directives of the ministry of higher education and scientific research focusing on the need to raise shared culture and knowledge among the graduate students about the Covid-19 epidemic.

The symposium began with a lecture delivered by the head of the department of oil engineering Prof. Dr. Ghanim Madeeh who welcomed and stressed the need to spread awareness among students and the need to wear masks and maintain social distancing and preventive measures that should be taken into consideration in classrooms and laboratories. A group of third-grade students also have participated in this presentation and talked about various topics related to the worldwide pandemics, including the many symptoms and misinformation that spread about this disease, how it transmits and the causes that lead to infection directly and indirectly and all the negatives that accompanied its emergence. Also a questionnaire organized by the participants was presented to students of the oil engineering department showing the number of injured and those who were vaccinated. At the end of this event, Dr. Ghanim Farman dedicated certificates of thanks and appreciation to the participants in recognition of their efforts in spreading awareness among their fellow students.
