The Educational Guidance Committee at the Higher Institute of Accounting and Financial Studies, under the supervision of the dean of the institute, Dr. Faihaa Abdullah Yaacoub, held an online workshop entitled “Human Rights: Steps towards Implementation” via Google Meet service and attended by Assist. Prof. Dr. Kholoud Hadi Abboud and a number of faculty members and postgraduate students.
The workshop dealt with several topics, including the beginnings of the emergence of human rights, the historical development of human rights and the Universal Charter of Human Rights approved by the United Nations, in addition to the most important rights, namely freedom of opinion, the right of human beings to life, the dignity of expression of opinion, the rights of women and children. At the end of the workshop, a set of recommendations was reached at, the most important of which is to emphasize the consideration of the ministry of higher education and scientific research and the ministry of education in teaching the subject of human rights within an important methodological subject to educate students and teachers in their role in knowing and demanding rights, to emphasize the adoption of a new strategy in the Institute and to develop a preservation and framework for it to be towards a human rights strategy that guarantees the rights of teachers and students as addressed by relevant bodies.
