The college of medicine has organized a ceremony for repeating the oath of the graduates of the 90th session for the academic year (2020-2021) held under the slogan (we have learnt our goal) for the academic year 2021/2020, in the presence of His Excellency the minister of higher education and scientific research Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdel Sahib and the minister of health Dr. Hani Musa al-Iqabi and the rector of the University of Baghdad Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, as well as a number of academic figures. His Excellency the minister of higher education stated during his speech the need for commitment to the standards of the national program accreditation for medical colleges and for intensifying the approved clinical training and skills development programs while taking into account the significance of passing in-class exams successfully with adherence to health and preventive measures. He also added that the ministry of higher education is keen to ensure the quality of medical specialties and the sobriety of medical education in Iraq as it directly affects human life and achieves the highest levels of community service, noting that the ministry monitors, follows and develops extended plans required to evaluate the course of institutional and programmatic accreditation in this important scientific field and measure the efficiency of its outputs in the light of the requirements imposed by the community environment and its needs for various medical services.

Then His Excellency the minister of health delivered a speech highlighting the expected tasks of graduates and their responsibilities in providing medical services in the country and the importance of scientific communication to develop performance and improve quality. The rector of the University of Baghdad Prof. Dr. Munir al-Saadi expressed at the opening speech of this ceremony his happiness and pride with the graduation of a new elite of students who would be a bright imprint in the service of the community and he congratulated the students and their professors and families in this day, stating that they have faced challenging times and  critical health crises that the country went through due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, and praising the competence of the Iraqi physicians their commitment to professional and humanitarian principles & values as well as their outstanding impact in their field of work, recommending the preservation of the reputation and ranking of their university. The ceremony witnessed repeating the Oath of Hippocrates by the dean of the college of medicine, Prof. Dr. Ali Kamel al-Shalji so that the new graduates take the oath of ethics, granting certificates, also the top students and lecturers who have received the title of professorship recently were honored on the sidelines of the celebration.
