Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, rector of the University of Baghdad has represented His Excellency the minister of higher education and scientific research, Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdul Sahib in the thirty first graduation ceremony in Anbar held under the slogan (Our learning is our goal) under the auspices of the rector the University of Anbar Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Talib al-Nada and in the presence of the ministers of planning and education, as well as a large number of Iraqi university rectors, Anbar Governor, security leaders and a number of department managers in the province. The ceremony began with the playing of the Iraqi national anthem and the recitation of some verses of the holy Quran, then reading Surah al-Fatiha for the souls of the martyrs of Iraq, in addition to presenting a documentary about the history of the University of Anbar and the stages of its development till this day. Dr. Munir al-Saadi delivered a speech in which he stated that “Today we are living in a crucial and new phase of your university career, through which you will contribute to the construction of your country, whose heroes have sacrificed a lot to continue and enrich the march of science and knowledge in the country” and he thanked all the great sincere efforts made by all faculty members that culminated in the graduation of these elite students this year successfully.
For his part, the rector of the University of Anbar gave a speech in which he welcomed his guests, praising the edifice of this distinguished university, which became a symbol of the Iraqi people of all sects and nationalities, also recognizing the role of the ministry of higher education and scientific research in its continued support for the university, as well as the role of the supporting entities that had made great initiatives for supporting its reconstruction and development scientifically that all contributed in the entry of the University of Anbar in global rankings and achieving advanced positions at the local and regional levels. On the sidelines of this ceremony, Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi accompanied by Dr. Mushtaq al-Nada and other guests inaugurated the first scientific products exhibition made by the university’s colleges and centers at the general secretariat of the central library in which a collection of scientific research papers, patents, authored books in various disciplines, innovative projects, posters presented by students and staff at the university. At the end of the ceremony, the graduate students presented a bouquet of flowers to the representative of the minister of higher education, Dr. Munir al-Saadi, the rector of Anbar University and the governor in addition to dedicating awards to the top students.
