The Baghdad Science Journal issued by the college of science for women at the University of Baghdad gained recently the second rank in the competition organized by the Department of Research and Development at the ministry of higher education and scientific research in celebration of the Iraqi Science Day for pure sciences (biology, chemistry, computer science, physics and mathematics), received by the editor-in-chief Dr. Fikret Majid Hassan during a ceremony held at Al-Nahrain University. It is noteworthy that (171) journals issued by public and private Iraqi universities have participated in this event and were evaluated based on many criteria, including their Impact Factor and CiteScore (CS) measure reflecting the yearly average number of citations to recent articles published in and in a particular journal.
