Assist. Prof. Dr. Nima Dahash Farhan al-Taie, dean of the college of Islamic sciences at the University of Baghdad has published a joint linguistic research entitled “Bilingualism and its impact on language teaching” presented in the proceedings of the first international conference held by Imam Kadhim College Islamic Science University in Diyala under the slogan (The cognitive diversity and its role in empowering community advancement).

The research paper addressed the social nature of the language, in accordance with the social changes it causes and the changing needs of individuals over time that may result in a change in languages and the diversity of their systems, so that to meet the needs of society, stating that bilingualism is one of the most prominent manifestations of linguistic multiplicity. Dr. Nima Dahash conducted his study based on analytical, descriptive and contextual approaches, where he at first defined the term bilingualism as the ability to speak and understand two or more languages, then he studied the epistemology of bilingualism and how to invest in promoting native language learning.
