The department of home economics at the college of education for women has organized a virtual seminar on (The role of home economics in the environmental culture under the Coronavirus pandemic) via Google Meet service. The participants sought to highlight the environmental impacts (weather negative or positive) of Coronavirus on our lives, as well as to demonstrate the need for utmost adherence to health measures to prevent infection and to introduce the role of the balanced diet in strengthening the immune system.

Then they addressed the role that the family plays in identifying the necessary measures of social distancing and how adults and children respond to isolation psychologically. The workshop included the presentation of a number of working papers on safety and sterilization initiatives to reduce Covid-19 in Iraq, as well as a set of recommendations that stressed the need to modify lifestyles, eat healthy food rich in vitamin C, Zinc and Omega-3, also staying away from the abuse of children for the negative effects of such behaviors on their psychological health.
