The department of Quranic sciences at the college of education for women held its eighteenth electronic symposium entitled (Islamic sciences between modular and digital education: obstacles and solutions) via Google Meet service under the slogan “Our bright past is a sober approach for present and future”. The symposium aimed to clarify the reality of Islamic sciences in light of digital education and to reveal the most important obstacles facing Islamic research at the present, as well as to create an educational environment in line with the accelerating course of events and threats to Islamic sciences to reach at a balance between the stereotypical bright past and the bitter present, showing the effective solutions in this regard.
The participants recommended to urge educational institutions to train their professors and employees to master the handling of electronic applications and to develop their capabilities daily to figure out their strengths and weaknesses, including online participation in courses, conferences and workshops at the regional and international levels, taking into account diversity where all learners have access to fair educational opportunities, taking advantage of Arab electronic platforms that allow e-learning such as Edraak portal, Rwaq platform, Tamkeen Association for Training, Zadi platform, Benaa platform and others that allow professors and students to interact with each other away from the imposed administrative restrictions. Also they recommended launch of an Iraqi educational platform approved by the ministry of higher education according to international criteria.
