The council of the University of Baghdad held its eighteenth session under the chairmanship of the rector Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid al-Saadi, in the presence of all members, deans and the assistant rectors for administrative and scientific affairs. The session started with exchanging views related to civil defense to maintain the occupational safety of all university’ formations from fires or electrical accidents, God forbid, also to rehabilitate and activate surveillance systems to monitor any emergency situation, traffic accidents or excessive speed. Then, the members agreed to schedule the procedures of e-learning in cooperation with Ibn Sina Center to follow-up the integrated lectures, provided that they are to be live streaming to inspect student interaction during lectures, as well as the establishment of exemplary online lectures, along with the preparation of attendance lectures in accordance with the decisions of the Iraqi Supreme Health and Safety Committee.

The council then discussed the scientific promotion of 10 lecturers approved after the fulfillment of all related conditions and the second extension of study time for 20 postgraduate students for a period of 6 months. Then the members discussed in its minutes the approval of some new curricula defined for the doctoral study at the college of agricultural engineering sciences, as well as the addition of another academic material for the third stage at the department of remote sensing. At last, they discussed grading on a curve for postgraduate students at the college of dentistry and to resume the evening studies at the department of mechatronics at Al-Khwarizmi college of engineering for the next academic year (2021-2022), after the college announced its full readiness in terms of the availability of teaching staff and scientific laboratories, on condition that the number of admitted students is not to exceed 40 students.
