The department of mathematics, in cooperation with the continuing education and Ibn Sina e-learning units at the college of science held a virtual workshop via Google Meet service on “The impact of e-exams on the students’ academic level” with the participation of a number of those interested in educational and psychological guidance as well as members of exam committees. The workshop was presented by Assist. Prof. Dr. Dalia Khalid and Dr. Hiba Abdullah Ibrahim with the aim to highlight the topic of online education and its major role in enhancing the adequacy of education in the country and the ability of our educational institutions to evaluate students’ performance, as well as to identify and address shortcomings to reduce many costs from the economic perspective.
The lecturers identified the procedures adopted usually for the successful preparation of e-exams that requires training teachers on how to administrate online tests and how to construct them in alignment with their students’ skills, as well as training students on how to deal with the electronic testing environment, which is one of the most important requirements to be observed, as well as raising awareness in educational institutions about the importance of using electronic tests and their role in activation of student-teacher interaction, taking into account the design of electronic tests in accordance with the approved educational and technological standards to ensure their sobriety and to achieve the desired goals during the current pandemic.
