The department of earth sciences, in cooperation with the continuing education unit at the college of science held its international virtual workshop entitled “Mechanisms for evaluation and securing e-exams” with the participation of a number of faculty members and related technical committees. The workshop was chaired by Prof. Dr. Rami Hikmit al-Hadeethi, head of the department of industrial engineering in UK and Ireland Branch and the professor of industrial technology and operations management at the University of Bradford, UK.

The lecturer aimed to highlight the problem of fraud in electronic examinations which is the main concern of professors during the Covid-19 pandemic, especially those with little experience in this field and which may lead to reduce academic sobriety of educational institutions. The workshop was transmitted through Call Conference website to identify the latest strategies pursued by British and European universities for evaluating students without the need to purchase high cost software, with a proposed mechanism for distributing tasks among the members of exam committees, as well as how to form a unified model of e-questions to be adopted by all faculties to eliminate any correction errors.
