Assist. Prof. Dr. Maher Yahya Salloum, dean of Al-Khwarizmi college of engineering at the University of Baghdad met a delegation of the Renewable Energy & Environment Research Center related to the Industrial Research and Development Authority at the Iraqi ministry of industry to discuss the prospects of concluding and implementation of a joint cooperation mechanism between the two parties.

They discussed also the possibility of conducting scientific and applied research that may help to develop policies and adopt appropriate strategies to optimize the use and efficiency of renewable energy sources in the country, as well as the virtual power plants program in which the capacities of various decentralized energy sources are assembled for the sake of remote management for 24 hours a day. It is noteworthy that the two sides have signed last month a mutual agreement on relying on renewable energies and exchange of scientific advice on one hand and the use of laboratory equipment on the other to complete joint field projects.
