The Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division at the college of physical education and sports sciences for women organized a virtual lecture on “Crisis Management”, in coordination with the Quality Assurance Division at the college of dentistry, University of Kirkuk via Zoom program.

The lecturers addressed the concept of crisis management that represents the strategies designed to help an organization deal with a sudden or a significant negative event that occurs as a result of an unpredictable event or an unforeseeable consequence of some event that had been considered as a potential risk and the most common techniques applied to manage balances between conflicting forces weather on the political or economic levels. They stressed that one of the reasons behind the development of crises are misunderstanding, mismanagement, conflict of interests & objectives, human errors, rumors, despair, desire to blackmail, lack of trust and the presence of multiple crises at the same time.

At last, they clarified the crisis stages: pre-crisis phase, crisis emergence and post-crisis phase, recalling the classification of crisis stages according to some scientists who thought that there is the (early warning phase, crisis phase, crisis explosion phase, chronic crisis phase, solution phase) based on life cycle or the rate of recurrence, namely in case of traditional or unexpected crises face by the organization.
